Volume 18, Issue 25 | June 18, 2025
| | | | |
On Sunday, June 29, we will take time during each worship service to recognize and honor WCC members who have served or are currently serving in the military with a special slideshow.
If you are a current or former member of the military, we invite you to participate!
To help us identify you, please fill out the form on our website and upload a photo of yourself in uniform!
The deadline to submit your photo is Monday, June 23.
| | NOTE: If you participated in last year's military slideshow, there is no need to resend your photo! However, if you'd like to opt out of being in our slideshow again, just let us know! | | | | |
Guys, join us on Sunday, June 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for our next Men’s Event in the WCC Backyard!
Outreach Minister Jay Scott and Mike Dickson will lead the evening. We will focus on Matthew 6:33 and Priority. There will be discussion, encouragement, and (of course!) food! (We’re grilling hot dogs and hamburgers.)
Please RSVP by Friday, June 27. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair to sit on!
| | | | Colonial Hills: Donation Drive | |
We are partnering with Colonial Hills Elementary School to support their C3 Program.
This outreach program for underprivileged children attending Colonial Hills Elementary is collecting sports equipment to encourage them to get outside and play this summer!
Requested items include soccer balls, footballs, basketballs, and jump ropes. An Amazon wish list is available. If you choose to order through Amazon, you may ship directly to the church!
Just send it to: Worthington Christian Church, Attn: Alison Morrow, 8145 N. High St, Columbus, OH 43235.

Donations may be dropped off in the blue bin in the Atrium this Sunday.
NOTE: Donations are due by Sunday, July 6.
| | | | Volunteers Needed: Worthington Christian Village | |
Volunteers are needed to help make WCV Field Day and Game Night a huge success!
WCV Field Day
Join in the fun and games at the Worthington Christian Village Field Day on Friday, June 27, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM! (Volunteers should arrive by 1:15 PM.)
Help us lead one of the 15 simple yard games that will be set up (e.g., cornhole, bag toss, pool noodle toss, etc.) for residents to play outside. Accommodations will be made for indoor games if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Game Night
Friday, June 27 from 6:30-8:00 PM. (Volunteers should arrive by 6:15 PM.)
This fun, monthly event has been ongoing for quite some time, and we have several loyal volunteers who enjoy playing board and card games with the residents. Volunteers are needed to greet residents as they arrive, play games, and assist with serving snacks. You don't have to commit to a monthly schedule, but volunteers are needed on Friday, June 27.
Interested in either of these opportunities? Please contact Cindy Baker.
| | | | |
If you've been looking for a way to serve the church and enjoy taking photos/video, we have a service opportunity for you!
Photographers are needed to help capture upcoming events, such as Vacation Bible School, 50th Anniversary Celebration, Habitat Build, Fall Fest, Thanksgiving Meal, Kids' Christmas Program, and Hunger Bowl (among others).
As a volunteer photographer, your goal is to capture the event's highlights, not the entire event. You may be asked to cover an hour of a specific event with an emphasis on a particular area (e.g., the Opening or Closing Ceremony for VBS, volunteers framing walls for the Habitat Build, etc.).
| | |
The photos (or videos) you take may be used on the WCC website, social media pages, and/or in various promotional materials. High-quality (full-resolution) photos are preferred as they may be used in print.
Interested? Please contact Kristie McGlaughlin for more information.
| | | | Women's Ministry: A Bend in the Road | |
Sometimes life is a challenge. The straight path you had thought you would be traveling now presents an unexpected bend in the road.
Have you been there? A job loss, a death, a fragile marriage, or an unexpected diagnosis are just a few of the bends in the road of life we encounter. At times, we may feel we will break from the weight of our exhaustion and grief, but even in the darkest of times, there is hope.
Join us on Saturday, August 2, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM for ’A Bend in the Road’ in the Youth Center with special guest speaker, Pat Krebs.
| | |
Pat Krebs has spent decades ministering to others as a hospital chaplain and clinical therapist. Recently, she was presented with her own bend in the road and will share practical wisdom found in scripture and tools that will help you or someone you know travel your path with faith and without fear.
A light breakfast will be provided, including coffee, juice, and pastries. If you need the Gluten-free option, please email Alison Morrow. This event is FREE. Childcare is not available.
| | | | |
Join us for an evening of food, games, and a good old-fashioned campfire on Sunday, July 6, at 7:00 PM in the WCC Backyard!

| NOTE: Childcare is not available. | | | | Cookout and Potluck at Highbanks Metro Park! | |

We kindly ask that everyone bring a side dish or dessert to share. Hot dogs, hamburgers, tableware, and drinks will be provided. Following lunch, we will have a Hymn Sing.
