After a year of every day being Blursday, it's time to get our planning act back together! And do you know what holiday is just around the corner? Mother's Day!
You are most likely looking to find the perfect gifts to honor your Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, BFF, Wife, and other very special women in your life. You want something upbeat. Something that shows you care. Something that is just right for this very amazing person in your life, whether she is near or far. What can you give to her that shows that you care about her and all that she has taught you?
Well, Mittens for Detroit has just the idea! Our annual Mother's Day campaign once again features something for Mom here and now, as well as something for others later this Fall and Winter. We are excited to offer this "here and now... and later" option to you! For a donation of $45 or more, you will be supporting the purchase of at least 5 pairs of beautiful, warm gloves to warm the hands of women in Detroit in October, distributed by one of our nearly 100 Distribution Partners. These pairs would retail for $18-$20 each. You know that it will make Mom feel great to know that you are so thoughtful!
AND, because Mom might say that she just wants a card and a kiss, but we know that's not quite enough*, we will send Mom a gift that will show her that you care about her health and safety. Back by popular demand, we will mail Mom a beautiful unique handmade face mask, created by one of MFD's amazing volunteers - Mirja Marshall! These beautiful Spring styles will freshen up Mom's mask wardrobe with lively colors and flowery patterns. We'll include a personalized Mother's Day card, telling her who this gift is from, telling her about the tribute you are paying to her with this gift to her now and the gloves for women in need later. Please note: These are cloth personal face masks, not N95 masks.
We'll wrap and mail (USPS Priority Mail - shipping is included in donation) the mask, along with a card, to your special mom in time for Mother's Day. This promotion ends on April 30, 2021, and there are a limited number of masks available.

*About the "kiss and a card".... Wendy knows this it's true that in spite of what Mom says, it's not enough. Her mom once told her that all she wanted for Mother's Day was a kiss and a card, which turned out to NOT be true! The next year, Mom gave Wendy a little wish list!
