Course Schedule Preferences
BRHS offers a robust curriculum with many course and teacher variations. Because of this opportunity, we are unable to field preference-based or lateral course change requests. Examples include requests for a different teacher or requests to enroll in a course earlier (or later in the day).
The dropping of a course or course level is a serious matter and is generally discouraged; such an action should be done only after much thought and consultation takes place. Requests will only be reviewed through the five school days following the posting of 1st Marking Period Progress Reports, which will be during the first week of October.
Requests will be considered provided the student will still be scheduled for 35 credits, a minimum of seven courses are scheduled in the semester, has the permission of the parent/guardian, and has consulted with his/her assigned counselor who can explain the process. Students are required to demonstrate that multiple interventions have been thoroughly attempted in advance.
