Supporting Accessibility and Fairness: Why We Back SB 84

The San Jose Chamber supports SB 84 because it protects access for all while putting an end to predatory ADA lawsuits that disproportionately harm small businesses.

SB 84 gives business owners 120 days to correct accessibility issues before a lawsuit can be filed—providing a clear path to compliance rather than immediate legal action.

Accessibility is a shared responsibility. To help, we’ve developed a free ADA Compliance Toolkit to guide businesses through the self-assessment and improvement process.
