First Friday Wine Tasting Benefiting Shelter Care Ministries

Join us to help raise money for Shelter Care Ministries. We will sample 24 different wines from around the world. Admission is a $20 cash/check donation to the charity.

Wine Tasting Club: Fortified Wine (Port, Sherry, Madeira)

Tuesday, January 16th | 5:30 - 7:00 PM

Wine Tasting Club will meet the third Tuesday of every month. Our staff will organize the tasting by varietal, appellation, or region. Each tasting will consist of 6 to 8 wines and will be tasted blind. The blind tasting format is guaranteed to provide ample opportunity for lively discussion and learning. Cost: $20 per person. Only 12 spots available per month.

Ralph Velasco is a Rockford resident who has been organizing and leading tours around the world for more than 15 years (and his trips are all 5-star rated). He has a more than 50 percent client repeat rate and group sizes range from just 6 - 10 participants maximum. 

Rest assured that the main focus of these incredible trips is the food, wine, spirits, and other historical and natural highlights of each of the places he visits, as is meeting the locals and being immersed in the authentic culture.

Accommodations are in unique properties such as a private 11th-century castle in France's Dordogne; a former private family villa in the Spanish hilltown of Laguardia in the Rioja region; and/or a gorgeous wine estate in the Douro Valley or boutique hotel in the center of Porto, Portugal.
