Enriching Futures: November Team Features

From the Founder – November 2025

Fourth quarter means I am largely working for my personal income goals while at the same time reaching out to wonderful people like YOU to make sure our families in Kenya have what they need to survive!

These last several months since September 2025 have been an utter whirlwind for me…7-week work assignment out of state, followed by a 3-week work assignment out of state, followed by an unexpected 2-day work assignment out of state and more out of state assignments to come because the year ain’t over! Whew!!!

I am SO grateful for work opportunities that allow me to both live a comfortable life and also visit some pretty cool places, AND I am SO grateful for those of you who join me in making sure our children in Kenya have food, school supplies, fun activities, educational support and the basic necessities that I and most of us are able to work for but that they lean on us to provide.

We can not take for granted that we are truly blessed as a nation and also blessed as individuals. The majority of our problems and things we are concerned about are first- world and not third-world. Let’s remember to keep everything in its proper perspective.

In this season of giving, sharing, reflection, and transition to a new year, please know that I do NOT take you for granted, AND I am eternally grateful that you regularly partner with Dorcas Destiny International in prayer, donation, service, and other support.

May your every prayer be answered this season and into the next as you listen to your heart and do what Jesus said to do, “Help the least of these.” Thank you for helping us be the light in their dark world!

Blessings, love, hugs, and so much more!!

Rebuilding Hope After the St. Mary’s Tragedy,

by Anne Micheu (Social Work Program Coordinator)

A devastating fire swept through St. Mary’s Academy, leaving families with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.

No injuries were reported — and for that we’re grateful — but the loss is total. Dozens of children and their families are now stranded, with all their clothes, bedding, and household items reduced to ashes.

We have been working on the ground to support them, and while some donations have already come in, the need is still overwhelming. We are appealing for emergency assistance for the affected children and families.

Here are the most urgent items we are still collecting:

FOOD (majority in bales):

• Wheat flour

• Maize (ugali) flour

• Rice

• Cooking oil

• Sugar

• Salt

• Crocs/shoes

SANITARY ITEMS:

• Toilet paper

• Toothpaste

• Sanitary towels

• Bar soap

• Petroleum jelly

• Clothes

• Blankets

Every contribution — no matter the size — helps a family rebuild.

Please stand with us and consider donating. Together, we can restore hope where everything has been lost.

Enriching Futures: November Educational Enrichment Program Team Features

Over the past weeks, the Education Enrichment Architects have had the privilege of running a development program with children from Hekima and Neema Schools—two communities serving underprivileged learners with immense potential. We aimed to create a safe, nurturing space where children could grow academically, creatively, socially, and spiritually during the holiday.

We are delighted to report noticeable improvements in the children’s

Attitudes, confidence, interpersonal skills, and overall engagement. Many expressed renewed enthusiasm for learning and a sense of belonging within the group. The engagements affirmed the idea that “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”

All the children are different kinds of flowers, and all together make this world a beautiful garden. It is therefore our communal responsibility to protect and empower them in every possible capacity.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all our donors. Your generosity has made

this program possible and meaningful. Your contributions provided materials, snacks, and resources that allowed every child to participate fully and joyfully. Thank you for believing in these children and in the work we are doing.

Your support is creating a lasting impact and opening doors of possibility for young learners who need it most. - Otieno Geofrey.

This November, we spent our days walking to Hekima and Neema schools, simple walks that led to unforgettable moments.

The new students were shy at first, but the moment we stepped into their classes, everything changed. We played games, shared ideas, colored with crayons, danced, sang, and had open conversations where they told us how they feel about school, life, and their dreams. It was a two-way street; they learned from us, and we learned just as much from them.

By the end of every session, the same question echoed in every corner: “So… when are you coming back?” And when we did come back, they brought more friends because the activities were fun, the lessons were real, and every day felt like a small adventure.

Now, a special shout-out to our donors, our silent superheroes. You didn’t just give snacks; you also provided the crayons and materials that made creativity come alive. But let’s talk about those snacks. Those snacks turned our sessions into a national event. Students were showing up early, sitting straight, paying attention like never before because, let’s be honest, learning is

good, but learning with snacks waiting afterward is a whole new level of motivation.

Your support fed their minds, filled their hearts, and well filled their stomachs too. We are deeply grateful.

This November was short, sweet, meaningful, and wonderfully fun one moment, one class, one smile at a time. - Achieng Linn

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for being part of the children’s journey through the Education Enrichment team. We’ve seen remarkable growth in the kids—both academically and spiritually—and your support has made a real difference at Hekima and Neema Schools during the holiday.

A huge thank you to all our donors for your generosity and continued contributions. Your support truly means a lot to us and to the children we serve. May the good Lord bless you. Beril Ojwando

First, both Neema and Hekima schools welcomed us with open arms, from the staff to the students. One school received us with a beautiful dance and the other with a heartfelt song, moments that truly warmed our hearts.

Seeing students willingly give up their holiday time to learn something new reminded us why this work matters. We taught arts and crafts, dance, and life

Skills, Bible study, and the children even taught us a few dance moves of their own.

Their consistency was inspiring, especially one child who attended sessions at both schools simply because she loved the unique lessons.

A sincere thank you to the donors—every smile in the photos and videos reflects the impact of your support. - John Ochieng

We feel truly privileged to have run a joyful, twice-weekly program for one whole month at Hekima and Neema Primary Schools. Right after the exams ended, we welcomed every child aged 4–13 who wanted to join—school pupils and neighborhood kids.

The days became little pockets of pure happiness: crayons everywhere, songs echoing across the compound, energetic dances, and gentle Bible stories that reminded each child how loved and valuable they are. The class teachers were our heroes, they availed every student to us.

Over the weeks, beautiful friendships bloomed everywhere: children who had never met before were soon sharing colors, holding hands during songs, and making promises to find each other again when school reopened. On the last day, watching them walk away clutching their treasured artwork papers overflowing with drawings and beaming from ear to ear is a memory I’ll always carry.

None of this magic would have happened without the extraordinary kindness of our donors, who supplied every crayon, every snack, and everything we needed. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.

Because of you, so many little ones have started their holiday with sparkling eyes and hearts full of hope. - Philip Okanda
