Amidst all the emotions of the past two weeks,
A Community of Friends (ACOF)
quietly noted that our one and only fundraiser of the year would have been held June 3
rd
. Typically scheduled at amazing venues throughout Los Angeles,
ACOF’s
Beyond Perceptions
reception would have been a celebration that honored leaders in our community and
ACOF’s
incredible work ending homelessness for those most vulnerable in our community. We were sad to cancel the event.
We are grateful to the many businesses and individuals who honored their sponsorship commitments, and to several more that stepped up to financially support
ACOF
during the early weeks when we responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to cash support, we received many in-kind contributions from corporations and community partners offering personal protective equipment like masks, fabric face coverings, disinfectant sprays, and hand sanitizers, as well as food including fresh produce and donations of toilet paper and sanitizing wipes (which you know is like gold!).
But as the virus shows no sign of abating (
