On Friday, October 18th from 6:30 -8:30 we are having the annual Halloween Trivia night for kids and adults to attend. Come dressed in costume. Prizes will be given out and pizza will be served for dinner. There is no charge for this event but a donation plate will be on the table to help defer the cost of the pizza. we will also have a silent auction for pumpkins hand painted by the Seaside kids ( there will be ten total). Bidding will start at $10 (cash and Venmo accepted). Proceeds will go directly to Seaside club for new decor and furniture the kids would like to update the space, as well as a holiday pizza party!

Michael J. Fox Foundation's Boston Run/Walk

We've created a team in memory of my Dad (Dan's Fans) with a goal of raising $15,000 for The Michael J. Fox Foundation.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

• Register for the Boston Run/Walk with Dan's Fans. Registration is $40 ($20 under 13).

• Donate to Dan's Fans. Can't make the event on October 27? You can support our team and accelerate a cure for PD.

The event will have a timed 5K run through Swampscott and the same 3-mile walk along the ocean boardwalk, as well as a 1-mile walk.

Pastor Ian will be away for 18 days beginning Sunday afternoon Oct 23. He will be available by email through Oct 24, and returning Oct 30. Rev. Joe Amico of Salem Tabernacle Church, UCC will provide pastoral care, along with our Care Team. Please contact Sharon Thomas, Lorraine Follis or Janet Fischer with requests for care when needed.

New Sunday Morning Parking Signage

First Church is experiencing a number of churchgoers being dropped off in the front driveway, and the church council has been asked to address the difficulty they experience negotiating along the lawn and accessing the sidewalk between the parked cars. 

As we welcome those who are older or less agile, we are setting aside an area in the front drive limited to “Drop Off/Pick Up Only.”  There will still be a few handicap and other open slots along the curved drive, but the space between the new signs will be a “No Parking" area.  These signs will be placed outside on Sunday mornings only, unless other groups request use of them for their events.

Al-Anon is an organization that offers experience, strength and hope to families who are

struggling with alcoholism and addiction. It is a very safe place to share the challenges of

difficult family situations. We at Al-Anon are very grateful to the First Church of Swampscott which has offered us space to hold our meetings, as below:
