We are so grateful for all who attended our Community Breakfast! It was a beautiful time of networking, reflecting, and dreaming together.
As we celebrate our FOURTH birthday, we are filled with gratitude in reflecting on some of the exciting stories from this past year! Take a look below:
Barriers that our neighbors face:
109 CV students currently identified as homeless (living in a shelter, motel, or doubled up with another family)
1% vacancy rate for CV housing (a healthy rate is between 5-8%)
36 languages spoken in CV (which is exciting!), but also poses social and employment barriers for our neighbors
0 public libraries in CV
52% of CV students receive free and reduced lunch, indicating that they live in low-income homes
Exciting SEEDS stories from this year:
9 households moved from a motel into their very own apartment, walking alongside our Adult Advocate!
25 new landlord connections built!
Began our 9th session of ESL classes - offered to our neighbors for FREE!
37 children, along with their parents, attended our CV Summer Library program!
Union Community Care now brings their mobile clinic to 3 motels in CV - offering primary care to our participants!
Join us in walking alongside our neighbors in CV!
