Alleluia!! HE IS RISEN!

ALLELUIA! Christ is Risen!!! Rejoice and be glad, for our Salvation has been WON!!!

Truly, Easter is a day to rejoice. And with Lent behind us and now enjoying Spring, we approach the time of First Communions, of Baptisms, of Weddings, Graduations, and many wonderful celebrations.

This is a time to rejoice. We do not deny nor ignore the many tragic, terrible, and painful realities of our world: the mass shootings at schools in our country, the awful war in Ukraine, famine and drought in many places, political repression in so many places, and our own assortment of illness, accidents, misfortunes, and troubles.

Nonetheless, looking at God’s fidelity in raising Jesus from the dead, and exalting Jesus on high, we have confident assurance of our sharing in the ultimate victory over destruction and death. And that is a reason to rejoice.

Happy Easter! Alleluia!!! From Fr. Chuck

Most people know that the St. Vincent de Paul Society helps folks of all faiths, or of no faith. We do not withhold assistance if someone is not a Christian or if they do not attend a church of any kind. But we do pray with our neighbors.

And so very often, our neighbors want to “give back”. We had that experience last week. A young neighbor had asked for some rent help, but when we called him a day later, he said he had figured out how to pay his rent and that he no longer needed assistance. Then he asked if there was any volunteer work he could do for us. I immediately thought of the Food Pantry at the Vincentian Family Center (aka St. Vincent de Paul Store).

This young man showed up at 8 am and worked tirelessly for over four hours serving others. He was collecting, moving, and carrying food boxes out for those who needed help. He also moved heavy pallets and helped in every way he could. I figured he would be “wiped out” by the time it was over, but he wants to come back again! Not only that, but he found someone who shares his business interest, too. What a wonderful experience watching this connection and the joy it brought this young neighbor!

Let’s continue to spread acts of love and endure the mercies of God through donation. Would you consider, this Easter with Financial Help to Persons in Need? Any donation is accepted and giving is easy at Persons in Need.

We Thank You All!

“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene,

who was crucified.

He has risen!"
