Our next dance is Saturday, September 16th and we'll be at the Municipal Arts Center (the "MAC"). Viko Hernandez and Allison Atteberry return to be our lesson instructors and DJs this month!

SCHEDULE:

7-8 pm: Lesson, West Coast Swing

• beginner friendly with some elements of new techniques or movements that will appeal to experienced dancers

8-11 pm: Dance

$13 Non-CSDS Members

$5 Students w/ID, First-Timers

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

We accept cash, check and PayPal payments. The online pre-registration/payment via credit card system, necessitated due to the covid pandemic, is no longer needed and will be phased out, effective in October. 

In the event of inclement weather and/or there is a schedule change or cancellation, we will make a post on our public Facebook page (you don't have to have an account) by 2 pm ET the day of the dance and if time permits, our website will be updated and an email sent out.

CSDS Membership

CSDS offers an annual membership for $15. Membership dues help to support CSDS and is completely optional for attending our events. Members do get to enjoy discounts to CSDS dances. To become a member or to renew your membership, please visit the CSDS website or take care of this in person at a CSDS dance. If you have any questions regarding the status of your membership, please contact CSDS.

Code of Conduct

CSDS has a Code of Conduct. Attendees are expected to be familiar with and abide by it at all CSDS sponsored events.

Swing Swap

CSDS' weekly Thursday Swing Swap continues this month with great tunes to have you groovin', a boomin' sound system and hardwood to get your spin on, all at the MAC (Municipal Arts Center), 7-8:30 pm! Vic Gregor, Ed Tharnish and other volunteers alternate hosting/DJing duties (thank you!). Come on out and practice, swap ideas and moves or just dance. We're beginner friendly and practice friendly! Admission is a suggested donation of $3-$5 (cash/check only). Location: 1119 5th St. SW (across 5th Street from Wegman's).

Group Classes

With the school year in session, group classes through County Parks & Rec are starting soon, taught by Kristin Wenger. You can register for classes in West Coast Swing and Country 2-Step, here. Also check out other local/regional regular dance offerings, studios/groups and instructors for more opportunities to #gettoclass!

Dance Resources

Check out the CSDS website for other dance opportunities, dance groups/hosts, dance instructors and dance resources (incuding music, shoes, events, training, tips/etiquette)! Also join the CSDS Planning (Social Events, Rides, Roomies, Etc.) group!

Volunteers Needed

As you know, CSDS is a volunteer run organization and it takes volunteers to put on our monthly dances and Swing Swap. We could use your help occasionally with setting up and taking down our dance venues, greeting dances at our registration desk and handling refreshments. If you would like to join our volunteer team, please contact any one of our Board members. Thanks!
