Summer/Fall 2026

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

- Philippians 1-6

Throughout Sonshine Day Camp, our campers had been learning about the Story of Joseph. Our campers eagerly followed along: “Just tell us what happens next!” Joseph certainly lived a dramatic life. There were terrible things that happened to him. He experienced betrayal, exile, and unexpected twists and turns that changed the course of his life, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. Our campers were angered by the injustice inflicted on Joseph and surprised by the choices he made. How could he forgive? They also saw how God was with Joseph every step of the way, even in the lowest points of his life. We had good conversations about forgiveness and God’s sovereignty in all circumstances. Many of our campers experience hardship or even injustice. Through Joseph’s life, we hope this truth stays with them: God is always with them, and He can redeem all things for His good purpose.”

In September, we welcomed our children and youth back to our after-school programs. We are excited to see what God will do this year and trust that His pursuing love is at work in their lives.

☀️ SONSHINE DAY CAMP 2026

This past summer, we were blessed with a great summer team! It was a wonderful summer serving our children and youth alongside the summer interns, teen leaders, mission teams, and volunteers. Thank you for loving our campers with Christ-like love and seizing every opportunity to share the Gospel with them!

We were blessed with 15 summer interns who embraced their calling to serve children and youth impacted by poverty.

At Orton Park, campers get a special reward for memorizing seven Bible verses–you get to pie a leader! Surprisingly, it’s a pretty motivating incentive! 🥧

Knocked out after a fun-filled field trip 😴

World Cup-themed day! ⚽️

We had our first youth camp at Orton Park! Many of our youth campers grew up in our kids' programs.

[Summer Interns: In their own words]

Deborah Kalistan, Jesse Ketchum

“TCM has opened my eyes to the reality that many children carry burdens others may not see. It has taught me to see each child as Jesus does, with compassion, dignity, and unconditional love. Sharing the Gospel is not only about teaching Bible lessons, but about reflecting Christ through the way we care for others."

Daniel Tcherkezian, Orton Park

"I can enthusiastically prepare Bible lessons, plan riveting object lessons, and practice worship until it rivals Hillsong; however, when it comes to bringing the youth to Christ, all I can really do is try. Only God can change their hearts.

Naomi Mountney, Don Valley Village

“God made us to do life together. He designed us to be a part of a family that works together to forward His kingdom. Being at camp has brought me to realize that needing support from others is not a weakness. It is leaning into the character God wants for me and stepping out of the way so He can work.”

🍁 FALL AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

In September, we welcomed our children and youths back to our after-school programs! This fall, our children will be learning about “Women in the Bible.” Through looking at the lives of women in the Bible, we hope that our children will understand how God worked through women and apply lessons of their faith, character, challenges and obedience to their own lives.

We invite you to support our free after-school programs for children and youth impacted by poverty. Your support can help a child keep growing in their faith and discover who God is!

[Impact Story: A Challenge Accepted, A Step Forward in Faith]

Last school year, we tried something new! We challenged our youth with an epic Bible Exam to test what they learned over the year. Much to our surprise, they accepted our challenge!

The exam had 179 questions, and they were determined to finish it. It took them two days to complete the exam! In the process, they learned to look up Bible passages by chapters and verses–an important skill that will stay with them forever. One youth even said to us that she felt so smart and proud of herself because she can now look up Bible verses on her own time.

At the end of the exam, we asked them one last question (non-graded): “Would you pray with me to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?” Of the 20 youths, many wrote "yes."

Many of the youths grew up in our kids' programs. And that was how they learned about Jesus. This school year, will you join us in nurturing these young hearts to know and desire God?

With $35 a month, you can help one child attend our KIC program for an entire year.

Alternatively, you can help send one teen to our YX program with a $50 monthly gift.
