Award Recipient

Sam Tang
Sam started ice skating back in 2012 and did the Tucker Hockey Sunday night beginners program for fall and winter of that year.

He spent the next decade playing on various beer league teams and shinny games. While Sam had fun doing that, he felt like he wasn’t getting better and decided it was time to revisit the Tucker programs.

Early in 2022 Sam signed up for a few of the Tucker Hockey programs and realized how much he had been missing out! Sam couldn’t get enough; practice was fun and he plans to keep attending.

There’s a Japanese saying – kaizen – continuous improvement – just try to be 1% better.

Liam Kirkpatrick
Liam is 8 years old and likes to play hockey and skate. He started hockey when he was 5 years old and could not even stand up on his skates.

Liam tried Tucker Hockey on the advice of a teammate and really liked the skills session he attended. It was Liam's favourite skills session he had done up to that time! He learned to get both feet moving and pushing off his edges that session, which made a huge difference in his enjoyment of skating/hockey.

Liam hopes to be able to play hockey in the NHL or WHL when he is older.
