It's Been a Full Summer of Art
As you scroll through this newsletter, you'll see that August was a very busy month of workshops and Family Art afternoon in Pewaukee. A big "thank you" goes out to Juli Garton for leading most of these events, with lots of help from other board members and volunteers. These events don't just magically happen - they happen with volunteer time and effort, as well as financial support from our sponsors.
And we have one more workshop this month that you'll wish to attend. Soul Fire Art Studio in Delafield is graciously hosting a fused-glass tree workshop this month. Those who attended it last year loved it! And there's still room for you.
Then, on October 6, we have a full-member meeting at the Pewaukee Library. It gives everyone a chance to share what they've been up to this summer. Bring a piece of art, something you've created, including the written word, photography, etc., that you'd like to share with us. It's a fun way to connect. If you attended one of our workshops this summer, bring your piece to share, too.
Have you been thinking about joining PAAC? If you attended a workshop and aren't a member yet, now's the time to join. Our membership year runs January 1 through December 31. We're offering NEW members an opportunity to join NOW and have your membership run through 2027 as an incentive. There are several reasons you may want to take advantage of this:
- We're updating our membership directory in January, so you want to be included.
- We have a full membership meeting on October 6, and it's a great time to meet people.
- We have a very fun member Christmas Party in December that you'll definitely wish to attend as well!
I look forward to welcoming new members at our October meeting and seeing what kind of art everyone has been creating this summer!

August events are In the books!
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent events: Family Art at the Museum, Creative Garden Leaf Cast, and Cyanotypes! Each gathering was filled with laughter, creativity, and a vibrant spirit of community participation. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated event team leaders, volunteers, sponsors, and partners, whose invaluable contributions brought these experiences to life. We would like to extend a special acknowledgment to Waterstone Bank for its generous support at the Art at the Museum event held at the Pewaukee Historical Society. Their commitment to community outreach perfectly aligns with PAAC's mission of enriching our local culture. We encourage everyone to take a moment to explore the creativity shared at these events, as it fosters a sense of connection and pride in our local artistic achievements. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events, where we can continue to celebrate the power of art together!

Art Care Kits Are on Their Way!
A total of 200 kits will be going to Family Promise of Waukesha County, La Casa de Esperanza Senior Care Living Center, Redeem and Restore Center, and Lake Country Caring. A BIG thank you to our generous donors: Ruth Harken, Julia Jaegersberg, and Joanne Nordstrum. With their help, we doubled the number of kits produced. Thank you also to Lindy Kanavas and Joanne Nordstrom, who managed the project and assembled the kits! They look wonderful! Our community partners have already received them warmly.

Gina M. Sanchez Juarez, Director, Center for Financial Stability, La Casa de Esperanza
"We're deeply grateful for this partnership with PAAC, and for the reminder that caring for our seniors means caring about the whole person - not just their housing needs, but their quality of life, their sense of belonging, and the simple moments that can bring them joy."
More photos to come as Art Care Kits are delivered.

Inside the Frame, Outside the Box
An all-PAAC art show
Come explore the all-PAAC art show at the Menomonee Falls Public Library. Thank you, Jen Herro, for organizing the show. And a big thank you to Jen, Irene and Heidi Hallett for volunteering to hang the show. There's a lot of time involved in hanging a show.
The exhibit will run September 2 to October 1, 2026.
Thank you to all 11 participating artists. We're grateful to the Menomonee Falls Library for opening its gallery space to us. We're also excited to offer MFPL the opportunity to participate in our Art Placement Project.
Please check the library hours and visit the show.

Have you driven past the police department in Pewaukee lately? PAAC artists gave a facelift to the benches in front of the building several years ago. Today, the benches need a little touch-up paint and fresh sealer coating.
If you're interested in helping with this PAAC community project, please let me know at raskopfanne@gmail.com. A few volunteers will make this project go lickity split!

A reminder that the Dementia Friendly Pewaukee art workshops meet the last Thursday of the month at the Fox River Congregational Church.
PAAC partners with the Pewaukee Woman's Club to support the organization's work through monthly art projects. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this time as a caregiver, please contact Joanne Nordstrum, Joanne.Nordstrum55@gmail.com, who can give you more details. Volunteers work one-on-one with the participants and are always welcome to join the monthly group on the last Thursday at 9:45am to assist with the craft project.
