Hello!
Polarization happens on many levels: within a family, in communities, in societies. The process is a tangled one, including:
- Lack of compassion or tolerance,
- The desire to be right, especially when two people or groups with opposite views each insist on proving that someone with whom they disagree is wrong, stupid, dangerous, etc.
- Absence of faith in a Creator that leads to unease in a variable world, and resulting in desire for power and control.
For example, novelist Thomas Wolfe said you can't go home again. The home you left changes over time, and essentially ceases to exist as it was in your memories. You are changed by life, and your experience of home will be different. Seems true?
French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr said,“plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose”, that is, "the more things change, the more they stay the same". Many things do remain consistent amid change. Also, there can be superficial change, while the essence of a person, institution, or society changes little.
So, opposite ideas are true at the same time. We can understand both, conflict free.
I discovered a magnificent saguaro cactus forest surrounding the Appache Trail in Arizona. I helped this one to express today's Message more eloquently than I can.
Be well. Stay safe. Love life.
Love and blessings to you and the ones you love,
Emmie
