Change Your Clocks Time to Fall Back

Remember to set your clocks back

one hour when you go to bed on

Saturday.

Sunday, November 1, at 2:00 a.m., marks the end of Daylight Saving Time.

Change Clocks

Check Batteries

When you roll back your clock 1 hour this Sunday you should also change the batteries in all your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Everyone is encouraged to practice this lifesaving habit of changing and testing their batteries.

Curbside Leaf Collection

The Public Works Department began its annual Curbside Leaf Collection Program this week. Each single-family residence has two pickups remaining between the weeks of November 2 and November 16. Look up your scheduled collection weeks using our Community Portal or through our interactive map.

  • Raked leaves must be put into the street and ready for pickup no later than 7 a.m. on scheduled Mondays, but no earlier than 4 p.m. on the day prior to collection.
  • Crews will start the pickups on Mondays and continue throughout the week until all the leaves have been collected in the scheduled zones.
  • Only one pass will be made down each street during each collection week.
  • Pickup on a certain day cannot be guaranteed. Collections are anticipated to finish by Thursdays each week, but may finish sooner depending on the volume of leaves.

For collection guidelines and more information, visit our Leaf Collection page or call Public Works at (847) 705-5200.

Help Shape the Future of Suburban Bus Service

Pace recently unveiled its Draft ReVision Plan, a bold proposal to transform suburban bus service across its six-county region for the way people travel today. The plan calls for a 50 percent overall increase in service across Pulse lines, fixed routes, and On Demand service, with more frequent, connected, and accessible options, particularly at night and on weekends. Every county in Pace’s service area would receive at least a 45 percent increase in service.

Pace has launched a broad public engagement effort to gather feedback on the draft network. Opportunities to participate include a public webinar, a survey, pop-up events, and online channels. Pace’s Field Team will also speak directly with riders across the region and encourage them to share their perspectives.

Riders, residents, and community partners can review the Draft ReVision Plan and complete the survey at PaceBus.com/ReVision, attend a virtual open house on November 18th from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m., or visit Pace at one of several pop-up events throughout the region from October 24th through November. A full list of events is available at PaceBus.com/popups.
