Good afternoon,
I hope this email finds you well as we head into the first weekend of September, which is, for public school students, the final weekend of summer vacation.
The weekend begins with the 20th anniversary and remembrance of our collective loss on September 11. We also celebrate our steadfast community efforts toward recovery, resiliency, and commitment to our first responders.
Some may be away savoring summer, but there’s still plenty happening right here in our community; for example, later today, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music has its Fall Fest, and Portside New York has an exhibit on the maritime response to 9/11 running through September 26th. More things are happening in the coming days that you may want to check out listed below my signature, so scroll on down.
However, whether or not you keep reading, get vaccinated, and if you’re in the north slope, be mindful of street use changes due to Video Music Awards and have a great weekend!
Michael Racioppo, District Manager
Brooklyn Community Board 6
