The government's chief Secretary Steve Barclay has announced this evening that they are postponing the IR35 reforms due to the coronavirus until 6th April 2021, this is a delay and not a cancellation.
Good news for contractors and agencies, which will enable contractors to be paid into their limited company for another year.
Fail to prepare - Prepare to fail
NumberMill realised that everyone left it too late and it was a hectic mad rush. NumberMill were inundated with last minute large transfers and conflicting information.
To be more prepared for next year consider registering all new candidates umbrella from now on so that it is normal practice and not a mad rush or shock.
NumberMill do provide accountancy services should contractors be seeking a new accountant or help should they look to shut their company down throughout the next year.
If any new contractors have recently registered with NumberMill Umbrella over the last couple of months and they wish to continue to be paid into their PSC, rest assured there would not be a charge for registering or leaving umbrella. If the contractor was yet to be paid by NumberMill due to their intended start date being in the new financial year then the worker will not require a P45 as no information was submitted to HMRC.
NumberMill see this as a great opportunity for agencies to be more prepared for next year and should you wish to book a telephone or video messaging call in the near future to discuss your options please contact our office on:
