!!! Home Delivery Pause !!!!

Home delivery remains on pause this week while we try to find the right person to fill this role. As usual during a shake-up like this, I will evaluate the entire process to see if there is a better way to serve you, our customers. Several people have applied for this job, so I feel confident we can fill this position within the next couple of weeks. We are aiming to improve efficiency and effectiveness so we can continue to bring you the best local food that we and the region have to offer.

Pop-up Pick-ups will continue like normal. Home delivery customers may switch to a pop-up during this time. If you have a current HD order that you would like to pick up at a Pop-up, please email us to make that switch (a reply to this email is just fine).

I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.

Milk and Egg Production:

• A2 verification: For years, folks have asked if our milk was A2. Since we run a closed herd of all Jerseys, we felt our milk was very likely A2, but we could never state that because he hadn't had the testing done. Over the years, the cost of testing has gone down, and we finally decided to have it done so we could be sure our cows are A2. I am happy to report: it is now verified that we produce and sell A2 Milk.
• Milk production is great right now. We have made plenty of inventory available online. Frozen cream is also available online. Fresh cream will be posted as available.
• Our laying hens are busy. Egg production is great. It's so good, in fact, that we just posted a buy-3-get-1-free offer. The sale is available now and will be while supplies last.

On the Farm:

Early Morning Turkey Walks

The turkeys are loving life out in the open pasture. They are busy eating lots of grass and bugs, taking dust baths, and lounging in the shade. I've had the opportunity to be over there quite a bit lately, working on fences and clearing land. Those early morning walks with the turkeys do not disappoint. There is a practical purpose. These walks allow me to evaluate the birds and the pasture. If anything needs attention, I can usually find it on these walks. The birds find me interesting at first. They all come running to inspect this new "thing" in the pasture. After a turkey-appropriate amount of inspection time, they decide I'm not that interesting and spread back out around the pasture. They go along their way making my favorite farm sounds, the putting and purring of grazing turkeys. I find a calming peace in those walks. As a livestock farmer, you always want to know that the animals you are entrusted with are thriving. Things could change at any minute, so I try to stay ready to battle the next proverbial fire, but for a few minutes on a nice pasture walk, everything is good. That makes me happy. Y'all have a great week, and take a walk if you can... pasture or otherwise.

You can place a $30 deposit now to reserve your Thanksgiving turkey.

Thanks for your continued support. At Carlton Farms we are proud to be your farmer.

Sincerely,

Chad Carlton
