Bronco Family,

We're so excited to see more students on campus as we resume more in-person instruction this week! Not only is activity starting to increase for student's, but we've also got some fun opportunities coming up for all of you. Please continue reading to learn more about our Bronco Family Academy, CPP Night at Angel's Stadium, important dates and deadlines and more.
Bronco Family Academy
There's still time to RSVP for our Bronco Family Academy event on Thursday, February 17 at 5:30 PM on Zoom. You'll get to hear directly from student, faculty, and staff from the office of Undergraduate Research and learn all about how students can use research to jumpstart their careers!

Did you know that employers value the skills that students acquire by conducting undergraduate research? And that students who participate in undergraduate research are twice as likely to graduate? And that Cal Poly Pomona offers research opportunities in ALL disciplines?

Not only that, but the work that students do outside of the classroom also gives them a stronger sense of belonging in their chosen fields of study AND at Cal Poly Pomona! They will also gain a greater sense of self-efficacy and learn more about what they are capable of.
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate. An interest in graduate school is NOT a requirement. This is truly open to everyone and is a great way for your students to show potential employers that they are self-motivated and have a “get it done” attitude. There are a lot of opportunities on campus so students don’t have to look hard to find them, and some are even paid!
Cal Poly Pomona Night with the Angels
Come join us on Wednesday, April 27 at 6:38 PM PST for Cal Poly Pomona night at Angels Stadium! Arrive early and visit our Bronco Village at Gate 5 to pick up your commemorative co-branded hat with CPP and Angels logos, so you can show your Bronco pride.

Tickets and hats are available while supplies last, so get yours today and join your Bronco family for a fun filled night of baseball!
The CPP Mentoring Network
Students are encouraged to join the Bronco Mentoring Network, Cal Poly Pomona’s career-mentoring and advice-sharing network that makes it easy for students to connect with alumni, staff and faculty mentors. Students are able to connect with alumni to ask career related questions that can help them navigate interviewing, finding a job, exploring industries, career opportunities and more!

Students can start figuring out their career's next steps and sign up for this growing community here!
Alpha Lambda Delta
Freshman students enrolled in a full-time course load who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher in their first semester received an email invitation to join the Cal Poly Pomona chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD), the national honor society for first-year success.

Alpha Lambda Delta was founded in 1924 to recognize the high academic achievement of first-year college students, and is present on over 280 campuses across the United States. ALD offers leadership development, service activities, scholarship opportunities, and career development. We are proud to recognize the academic achievements of our freshmen students by hosting an active ALD chapter at CPP. If your student met the eligibility criteria, we hope you will encourage them to join. Instructions on how to accept their invitation and pay lifetime membership dues is included in their invitation email, which came from MyHonorSociety to the CPP email address (be sure to check junk or spam folders!). For more information, please visit the national Alpha Lambda Delta website.
