November is here and the planting season is winding down for the year. However, its a great time to spend those last few warm days outside and make some notes for next season; is there a bare spot in my garden I’d like to fill? Do I have enough bright, Fall color in my landscape? Would more evergreen shrubs add interest during the Winter months? In addition to making plans for next year and getting your plants ready for colder weather, don’t forget about your tools. Make sure pruners are clean and sharp, fertilizers and sprays are stored properly, and hoses are drained. A little cold-weather prep now will make Springtime projects much easier!

Did you know?

Even if trees, shrubs and perennials are completely dormant (asleep) for the season, you can still plant them! Installing plants now, while they are focusing on growing their root systems, rather than leaves, branches and flowers, will not only take the watering burden off of you, but will give the plants a head start come springtime. Developing roots is important for young plants, so give them the best chance to thrive in your landscape!
