Pickup at Our Lady, 330 Berry Lane, Georgetown

Roses planted on individual graves must have a MATURE HEIGHT OF 2 FEET OR LESS. This means the variety’s full-grown height, not its size when purchased. Please select from the cemetery-approved compact varieties on the ordering site. This restriction does not apply to roses purchased for home gardens.

Our caregiver team can assist with cemetery planting. Recently cleared RRD sites will be replanted after the waiting and monitoring period described below.

Complimentary RRD replacements are arranged directly through Sophia—you do not need to purchase them yourself. Additional roses for the cemetery or home may be purchased separately through the ordering website.

Caring for our roses

We recently removed roses showing signs of rose rosette disease (RRD), along with dead plants. A rose planted in someone’s memory can carry deep personal meaning, and we are sincerely sorry for the distress its loss may cause.

RRD spreads between roses through microscopic mites; there is no cure for an infected plant. Removing affected roses helps reduce further spread and protect remaining roses.

We offer one replacement rose at no cost for each rose removed because of RRD. Please contact Sophia to arrange yours, even if you have not yet connected with staff. Please also report suspected RRD so our team can promptly assess the rose and arrange removal when needed.

We plan a one-to-two-month waiting and monitoring period after removal before replanting affected spaces. The cemetery will hold and water replacement roses ordered from Antique Rose Emporium until the affected planting sites are ready. At your family’s request, our caregiver team will then plant the roses. You do not need to take them home while waiting.
