Bishop's Visit This Sunday

Bishop Glenda Curry visits St. Thomas THIS

SUNDAY, October 26

Bishop Glenda Curry will be with us at St. Thomas at both the 8:00 a.m. and the 10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharists this Sunday, October 26, to preach and to offer the sacrament of Confirmation. The Bishop will also receive new members into the Episcopal Church and offer a reaffirmation of faith for St. Thomas members who have been attending Sunday's Adult Confirmation class.

The candidates for Confirmation this year are Kathryn Davis, Shelby Williams, Thomas Anderson Bestor, Lucky Douglas West Crews, Brylie Mae Colvin, Chloe Reese Moore, Olivia Claire Price, Robyn Ansley Price, and Abigail Lee Randall. Those being received into the Episcopal Church are Janet Armstrong, Mark A. Glass, Sandy Glass, Elaine Johnston, Mark Johnston, and Jennifer Jonas. And Linda Steele will be reaffirming her faith.

This year for Bishop Curry's visit, breakfast will begin immediately following the 8:00 a.m. Eucharist, allowing time for Bishop Curry to visit and honor our confirmands and new and reaffirmed members. At 9:45 a.m., Bishop Curry will be invited to address the church in the Parish Hall, and all adult and youth parishioners are encouraged to attend. There will also be a special reception for our Confirmands immediately after the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist in the Parish Hall.

Please plan on welcoming Bishop Curry this Sunday and celebrating our newly confirmed, received, and reaffirmed youth and adults!

Thank YOU from Sleep in Heavenly Peace

St. Thomas' first Outreach visit to SHP a BIG SUCCESS! Over 60 Beds Built!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped build 60 beds last Sunday for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. That means 60 children in Huntsville will no longer have to sleep on the floor at night. And thank you to all who donated bedding or made a monetary donation for the cause. Feedback from all the participants was overwhelmingly positive, and hopefully some will be able to participate in the delivery of beds to the children.

Thank you again!

Tree Project Fundraiser

Goal Exceeded!

We are thrilled, grateful, and humbled by the generosity of the people of St Thomas in raising funds for planting trees along Aldridge Creek Greenway.

Our hopeful goal was to raise $3000 - instead your giving has raised $6,470. With the $3,000 match from The Obermann Foundation and Friends of Trees we have $9,470 for this important project for the creatures and people of Huntsville. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The next step is to meet with the City Arborist, Marc Byers, who will decide on a planting plan. Watch for more information as it becomes available. Contact Belinda Greenaway at belinda223@gmail.com or Brett Byford at brettbyford59@gmail.com.

St. Thomas 2026 Stewardship

Stewardship Campaign Deadline is November 3!

Only 10 Days Left to Pledge!

Dear Friends in Christ,

Our Tell Out My Soul stewardship campaign is well underway, and many of you have

already shared your pledges for 2026 — thank you! Your support helps St. Thomas

continue the ministries that make such a difference in our church, our community, and

beyond.

If you haven’t yet turned in your pledge card, please do so by November 3. Every

pledge — no matter the amount — allows us to plan faithfully for worship, outreach,

and formation in the year ahead.

Making a pledge is more than a financial decision; it’s a spiritual one. It’s our way of

saying “thank you” to God and committing ourselves to the mission we share at St.

Thomas.

Let’s all join together to “Tell Out My Soul” and proclaim God’s goodness through our

giving!

With gratitude,

David Hattaway
