TOMORROW: CT CAN End Homelessness & United Way Joint Advocacy Briefing

Join us for an action-oriented advocacy briefing with United Way on the federal cuts threatening homelessness services. This is intended for community partners to better understand this critical issue and mobilize together to protect housing stability for our most vulnerable neighbors.

Date: TOMORROW, Wednesday, November 26th, 2025

Time: 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

These changes will affect organizations and communities across Connecticut, so we invite you to join us to learn what YOU can do to help. Please forward this to other community organizations in your network who should be involved!

Background:

  • The federal government has announced major changes to the Continuum of Care program that could dramatically reshape homelessness services in Connecticut.

  • Permanent housing funding would be slashed from 90% to just 30%, redirecting dollars toward temporary programs with work requirements and other conditions.

  • More than 6,500 people in our communities could lose stable housing as a result. Over 1,000 landlords would lose rental income, and more than 400 homeless services staff - members of our community who provide vital services - would lose their jobs.
