On World Polio Day, October 24, 2025, we celebrate Rotary’s unwavering mission to create a world free from polio.
At the end of the 1980s, more than 350,000 children were paralyzed by polio every year — that’s the equivalent of four EverBank Stadiums, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, filled with children suffering from a disease that has a cure.
Rotary refused to accept that reality. Through decades of immunization campaigns, partnerships with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the dedication of millions of Rotarians worldwide, the tide began to turn.
Fast-forward to 2025 — there are just 36 cases of wild polio left in the entire world. From four packed stadiums… to the size of three 15-passenger vans.
That’s the power of persistence. That’s the impact of Rotary.
Together, we’ve come so far — and together, we will End Polio Now.
Let’s continue to Unite for Good—now more than ever.
Have a great Rotary week, friends! 💙🌀
