Dear Georgia School Counselors,

We are pleased to share a powerful opportunity to serve students, families, and communities in their greatest time of need.

The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Crisis Recovery Network supports schools and districts during catastrophic crises—such as natural disasters, school violence, and public health emergencies—by offering best practice recommendations for response and recovery. Network Counselors operate under the direction of the host district to ensure alignment with local needs and policies.

SREB is currently accepting applications for new Crisis Recovery Network Counselors from Georgia.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in School Counseling
  • Have State Certification as a School Counselor
  • Be currently employed by a public school district in Georgia
  • Possess a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in school counseling
  • Be recommended by their Superintendent

Selected counselors will receive specialized training in crisis intervention and recovery. While prior experience with crisis response (e.g., PREPaRE, Psychological First Aid, Trauma-Informed Care) is valuable, it is not required for application—training will be provided upon acceptance to the network.

Application Deadline: July 18, 2025
