Happy 150th Birthday, Colorado!!

This weekend, Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood, and here are some ways you can celebrate right here in Colorado Springs.

Here are a few events happening around town:

• Colorado Day at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (Saturday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM) with free admission, birthday cake, live music, food trucks, family activities, and the opening of a new exhibit.

• A World Record Attempt on Pikes Peak! At 11:00 AM, visitors on the summit will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the most people dunking donuts into coffee at the same time. If you're planning to participate, be sure to reserve a timed-entry permit or shuttle ticket in advance.

• Sunrise and Sunset on Pikes Peak. To mark Colorado Day, the highway is opening for special sunrise and sunset experiences on the summit—something that's only offered a few times each year. Advance reservations are required. 

One hundred and fifty years is worth celebrating!! Whether you're a Colorado native or this state has simply become home along the way, this weekend is a great reminder of why so many of us love living here!!
