RYAN MURPHY TAKES OVER
HAMBURGER MARY'S!
To be fair, I have no idea what they are filming on Tuesday at Hamburger Mary's. It is very top secret. I did enjoy making the artwork above for it though. All I know is that a Ryan Murphy production is filming all day and night and eventually we will all be able to see it! There is no bingo in the shoot (we are not involved at all) but well, that is their loss. Imagine someone being spun around in a giant bingo cage until the exploded!

PLEASE SAVE ME FROM YELP!
If you are a business owner I highly recommend that you never visit your Yelp page. I broke my own rule recently and really went down a rabbit hole.
I pride myself on hosting an event in which "everyone has a good time." That is literally my goal with every show and yet, in reality I do know that it is not possible. And how do I know that? From Yelp! It's on Yelp that I find out things like:
"The host was really mean to everyone! And the audience threw things at the winners!"
"The drag queen was not wearing a boa and I thought all drag queens wore boas!"
"I didn't win anything and that pissed me off!
"I won and then had to reach in to a literal "Bag of Crap" and all I got was some broke-ass weird toy!"
"The callers called the numbers way to fast so I just gave up and went home."
And there is a lot more. My instinct is to write everyone back and apologize and offer them a free night if and when they come back. Okay, so I did that and most people were very kind and thanked me and said they would come back.
Except for one.
Here is her Yelp post:
"I went to Hamburger Mary's for Drag Queen Bingo and was very disappointed. I expected to walk in and find a room full of drag queens smoking and drinking and playing bingo. This was not the case. The only drag queen was the bingo caller and the crowd was just regular people. I feel like they have misrepresented their offering. I will never return to this place."
So many problems with her post. First off, since when can you smoke in restaurants? And sorry about the "regular people" playing bingo. Isn't she a regular person? It sounded like she was expecting some sort of interactive theatrical experience- lile maybe a Bingo Murder Mystery Night!"
Well, I wrote her back and I just said that I was so sorry that her expectations were not met and that I would love it if she came back for a free night of bingo with VIP seating.
Her response? "I stand by my review."
Yes of course I cursed a little at my computer but I am proud of the fact that I did not pursue it any further. However, I did make up a new promo that I would love to post on Yelp.
