DEAM Pantry Drive
For the Month of June
| Epiphany stocks the pantry at the Decatur-area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM) twice a year in January and June. For the month of June, we are collecting canned vegetables (especially greens), canned soup, and multi-packs of peanut butter crackers. We hope to collect 75 of each. Wooden bins for your donations are in the gallery by the front door. Also, we collect travel toiletries year round. | | | | |
Contemplative Book Group
Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. through July 9
| |
6/18—This time the group will be exploring Subversive Sabbath by A. J. Swoboda, for five weeks starting June 11 in Room 201. We’ll be looking at Sabbath as both a spiritual practice and a form of resistance to the prevailing culture of productivity, distraction, and anxiety, both individually and for our communities. Swoboda proposes that “God may actually do more when we do less.”
Drop-ins are welcome as together we seek to live into the creative, abundant life God desires for us.
