Special Opportunity to Apply for Short-term Board Positions!
For those who may have hesitated to run for a full term on the WILPF US national board, there are two special short-term opportunities now available.
The positions will be voted on by the WILPF US Board
Interim Membership Development Chairperson
The Nominating Committee is seeking a member to serve as Interim Membership Development Chairperson until elections are held and a permanent chair is seated early next year. The recent resignation of our treasurer has led to a shifting of positions. LaShawndra Vernon has left her position as Membership Development chair to serve as Interim Treasurer, leaving the Membership Development position open. Following is a description of the duties of the Membership Development Committee, as described in the by-laws:
1. MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: The Membership Development Committee has responsibility for overseeing the growth, sustainability and development of WILPF US¹s membership and for making recommendations regarding actions to be taken to the Board, the steering committee, and appropriate staff. This committee is composed of the Membership Development Committee Chair and up to a total of nine additional members, appointed by the chair and subject to approval by the Board. At least one member of the committee will serve as a liaison to at large members and at least one other committee member will serve as an ombudsperson for addressing member concerns and complaints. The committee shall determine its procedures for assigning these roles. Additionally, one or both of the At-Large Board Members may be a member of this committee, if she chooses.

Interim At-Large Board Member.
We also are looking for a second At-Large board member. The first at-large position was filled during our recent election, but no one ran for the second at-large position. This position will be interim, until elections are held and a permanent at-large member is seated early next year for a term of one year.
