Message from Mayor Kapszukiewicz
Toledo has made an amazing impression on our visitors from across the nation and around the world who are here for the 2021 Solheim Cup.

I want to again thank all of our partners for helping to make this event possible, and all Toledo residents who have understood the need for measures like street closures for such a large sporting event. Toledo is a city on the rise and this event is only one of the many amazing things happening in our neighborhoods. Again, find the Solheim Cup schedule of events here, and the Fan Fest website is promenadeconcerts.com/fanfest/.

Last week’s city newsletter had a lot information on Solheim parking and more.
Rental Assistance
The deadline to apply for rental assistance through a joint city/county program has passed, but I want residents who need help to know that there is still plenty of housing-related assistance available in Toledo. Below you will see information on our partners who can help, and we also expect to have another round of federally funded rental assistance. Anyone who started to apply for the rental assistance before the Sept. 1 deadline, and needs help completing it, should call 419-245-1435.
Back to School and COVID-19
After a difficult year in classrooms during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the Toledo Federation of Teachers decided to take to the streets to help ensure students would be back at the Toledo Public Schools.

They created the Student Recruitment Tour, featuring a branded van and teachers spreading the word about attending a TPS school. To complete the tour, TFT knocked on students' doors in the Scott, Glenwood, and East Toledo neighborhoods, engaging hundreds of families. They were also a strong presence at community events like Jeep Fest and Vax to School at the Lucas County Health Department.

I thank the teachers for doing this hard work and taking this important message directly to the people!
