Course Updates

Wildlife Notice:

As you enjoy your round, please remember that our courses are home to a variety of Colorado wildlife. Please DO NOT approach wildlife or feed any animals you see on our courses.

During elk rutting season, elk in particular may be more active, aggressive, or more unpredictable than usual. Always keep a safe distance from elk and never approach or attempt to move them. If an elk or herd is blocking your path or the green, safely go around them or skip the hole if necessary.

Please stay alert, respect the wildlife and their space, and contact the golf shop if you need assistance.

Drought Condition Updates:

As of November 1, Denver golf courses using potable and raw water will only be allowed to water greens and tees. City Park Golf course is on reuse water and is not currently subject to drought restrictions.

Supplemental water to fairways and rough during winter months is critical to keeping the turf alive - especially in high traffic areas and areas prone to desiccation such as southern exposures and mounds.

We are hopeful this winter will bring significant snow so that this next level of drought restrictions will have less of an impact on turf quality AND bring our region out of drought. However, if we have a dry winter, we may implement cart restrictions as the off-season moisture and turf conditions may require.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we manage this together, and thank you for playing Denver Golf Courses.

Every big moment starts somewhere.

A first swing.

A first lesson.

A first coach who believes in you.

A first opportunity to discover what you're capable of.

At First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains, we see those small beginnings turn into something bigger every day.

Big Swings Start Small.

Join us for our 2026 More Than a Game Luncheon presented by Leland Shaffer LLP and hear directly from the young people whose first experiences with First Tee have grown into confidence, friendships, leadership skills, jobs, scholarships and opportunities that extend far beyond the golf course.

WHERE: Seawell Ballroom at the DCPA (1350 Arapahoe St, Denver, CO 80204)

This is our biggest event of the year and one of the best opportunities to experience what First Tee is all about.

We can't wait to show you how a small swing can become something much bigger.

Adaptive Golf

Golf is uniquely situated as a lifetime sport played at any age or skill level and inclusive to a wide range of physical ability. Denver Golf is improving adaptive golf opportunities with the Solo Rider and Vertacat mobility carts. We look forward to working with our adaptive golfers to create opportunities for greater participation and access. We welcome you to join our commitment to Get in the Game!

Adaptive Player Spotlight: Matt Farmen

I’ve been playing golf since 2011, when I purchased my first adaptive golf cart, the ParaGolfer. Thanks to City of Denver Golf, I now have the opportunity to use the newer VertaCat adaptive golf cart at Denver’s golf courses. My favorite Denver course is Kennedy Golf Course, especially the Creek Nine.

One of my favorite golf memories is winning the One-Arm, Assisted Stand Division at the 2014 Adaptive Long Drive Championships in Mesquite, Nevada, with a 206-yard drive. My favorite club to hit is my TaylorMade hybrid. Golf has been a great way for me to stay competitive, enjoy the outdoors, and continue challenging myself while demonstrating what is possible through adaptive recreation.

Aluminum Recycling

 ALUMINUM CANS ONLY, PLEASE!

Help us keep our aluminum can recycling program on course!

Our aluminum can containers are ONLY for aluminum cans. Please do not place trash, cups, food waste, plastic bottles, or other items in these bins.

When trash is mixed with recyclable cans, it contaminates the recycling process and prevents aluminum from being recycled.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

♻️ ALUMINUM CANS → RECYCLING CONTAINERS

🗑️ EVERYTHING ELSE → TRASH

Thank you for helping us keep the course clean and doing your part to support our recycling efforts!

ALUMINUM ONLY = RECYCLED

COMINGLED WASTE = LANDFILL

Improvements

Wellshire Driving Range Construction has begun!

Rebuilding of the driving range has begun, converting it from water to grass starting this fall/winter! Intensive work has begun on the Skeel reservoir. The project will decommission the existing high-risk dam and convert the area into a 100-year stormwater detention facility with water-quality treatment, reducing downstream flood risk while restoring the site for continued grass driving range use. When playing Wellshire, you may experience construction noise. Please be patient while we convert the area back into a useable driving range and flood detention area.

For more information, visit the Skeel Reservoir project webpage on Denvergov.org as the primary location for construction updates and other project information as work progresses.

Kennedy Tree Removal

You are going to see some big improvements in the tree canopy at Kennedy. Coming soon, we will be removing about 50 dead trees and doing safety trimming. We expect to start removals and pruning in October. Stay tuned for more info. We may need reroute golf during this process for the safety of our guests and the workers. We will keep you posted on dates and any disruption to play.

Willis Case Patio Repairs

Concrete repair on the patio will begin this fall.
