The Lasting Impact of Compass Teachers
While Teacher Appreciation Week was earlier this month, every week is Teacher Appreciation Week for the Pathways community.
For Krissy, a local parent, finding the right school wasn't just about academics but just as importantly about trust, care, and the people guiding their child's development.
"I honestly didn't know much about Compass. I moved to Bloomington 5 years ago and knew that I wanted to have Benjamin [her eldest son] in a preschool so he could interact with other children in his age group. I toured Compass and instantly loved what I saw. Both Brittney and Stacey [the Compass Directors] were welcoming and always answered any and all questions with complete transparency."
That welcoming atmosphere extended beyond the initial tour; it became a constant presence through each morning drop-off. "All of the teachers are so caring for all of the children at Compass. It feels like the teachers and staff become a part of your family."
But the impact of Pathways didn't just shape Krissy's children, it also shaped her professional journey. After experiencing firsthand the warmth and dedication of the teachers and staff at Pathways, she decided to pursue a deeper role within the community. When an employment opportunity arose, Krissy pursued it immediately, eager to contribute to the very organization that had given her family so much.
For families like this one, Compass teachers are not just educators but they are mentors, supporters, and part of a child's journey in ways that deserve constant recognition. That's why here at Pathways, teacher appreciation extends beyond just one week, it's a daily occurrence.
