Laguna Landscapes Series
LOCA's popular Laguna Landscapes is a series of painting workshops offered in collaboration with Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA). Students who register for online classes will receive a photo and supplies list in advance, so as to paint at home while watching live instruction. A video recording of the lesson will be provided as a follow-up. Oil, acrylic, and pastel workshops will be offered, taught by a choice of experienced LPAPA instructors including Wendy Wirth (pictured). Pricing, dates, and registration will be announced soon.

Exciting LOCA News!
LOCA Auction a Great Success!
LOCA's first online auction was a great success. The 3-day event featured 62 originals by noted local artists. More than 150 participants bid enthusiastically on favorite pieces. Proceeds from sales will support the artists, and help LOCA keep its free and affordable education programs available to people of all ages and abilities in Orange County. "We were sad to have cancelled our Birthday Bash fundraiser, but excited to see so many supporters join us online!" said Carla Meberg, LOCA President. "We send a heartfelt thank you to our contributing artists, and to everyone who bid and bought art!"
Maggie Hempen Loves LOCA
Maggie Hempen is President of the Laguna Beach Sister Cities Association - and a proud member of LOCA. "There's so many reasons I love LOCA," she proclaimed. "It's community based and classes are inexpensive. I've enjoyed Shelley Evan's workshops, the watercolor classes at the Community Garden - there's so many to name. I've really been able to develop my skills - I actually might have talent!" she said. When asked about an artist she likes, she replied "Doug Miller. I have a great collection of his miniature paintings on my wall - I love it!"

Maggie's name was drawn in LOCA's Shout Out opportunity drawing for members. See more Shout Outs in our future eNewsletters.
