"Give Them Roots and Create Wings"

EPH News - March 2026

The Gift of Staying Home

Last year, 66 families - including 138 children - at risk of losing their housing in Brown County were able to remain safely in their homes with the support of our eviction prevention program. We recently received a heartfelt message from a family that received services through this program. Her words are a reminder that the support families receive can do far more than prevent an eviction - it can restore hope and change the course of a life.

Read part of what she had to say below.

"Before EPH's Eviction Prevention Program, we had been told “no” so many times. We had been turned away again and again. I had reached a point where I was not okay.

EPH didn’t just provide services. You saved me. You protected my child from what could have been deep and lasting trauma.

That season was the darkest of my life. You may not have seen just how close to the edge I was—but you met us there.

I was starting to believe that my daughter would be better off without me. That lie still whispers occasionally, but now I know how to shut it down quickly thanks to you. What I know for certain is this: my daughter loves me, she needs me, and because of EPH, I’m here to be her mom.

Thank you for what you do. It changes — and saves — lives.”
