DORIS'S PLACE SPRING FAMILY NIGHT

Thank you to all the children and families from the Stayton area who joined us for our private Family Night event at Doris's Place! On a beautiful (and warm!) June evening, families came together to enjoy dinner, cool off with popsicles, play literacy-themed games, get their faces painted, and spend quality time making memories on our brand new playgrounds!

This evening was possible because of the dedication of our incredible staff and volunteers! Their warm welcome to our families created a fun evening where every family felt supported and included. We are deeply grateful for their time and commitment! We were able to send each family home with books and extra popsicles! Thank you to all the families and children who attended. We are thankful every day for the families who reach out and partner with Family Building Blocks.

UPCOMING PARENTING CLASSES

At Family Building Blocks, we believe every parent deserves support, encouragement, and practical tools to help their family thrive. That's why we offer free parenting classes designed to build confidence, strengthen parent-child relationships, and create safe, nurturing homes.

We have two upcoming parenting classes this July. Know a parent who could benefit from these classes or a community partner who might need this information? Please share these opportunities with your friends, family, and community so more Marion and Polk County parents can access this support.

Our Nurturing Parenting Course for Prenatal and Newborn Parents begins July 8 and meets Wednesdays from 4:30–6:00 p.m. at Chelsea's Place in Salem. This free nine-session course covers essential topics that support prenatal and newborn health and safety. Dinner is provided, and limited childcare is available with registration.

El Círculo de Seguridad para Padres (Circle of Security Parenting) class begins July 9 and meets virtually on Thursdays from 6:00–7:30 p.m. This free eight-week course is presented entirely in Spanish via Zoom and helps parents better understand and respond to their children's emotional needs.

Advance registration is required for both classes and you can find additional details on our calendar here.
