Paradise Lost
by Erin Shields
facilitated by Yvette Nolan
music composed by Amanda Trapp
“Stunning, searing, unmissable” - Mail on Sunday
Erin Shield’s fiercely engaging, irreverently funny and deeply moving Governor General’s Award nominated play inspired by John Milton’s epic poem takes us to the depths of hell. The fallen angel Satan is plotting her revenge against the Almighty with a devious plan to corrupt his two newest creations, Adam and Eve. This witty, engaging, and moving feminist play is a fresh retelling of one of humanity’s biggest quandaries, the battle between good and evil. “Not your grandmother’s archetypes.”

Darcy acted as director for five productions at the College: As Bees in Honey Drown for Company C in 2009-10, Lord of the Flies for Company C in 2010-11, Village of Idiots for Year II in 2011-12, The Grapes of Wrath for Year II in 2012-13, and Twelfth Night for Company C in 2013-14. He was part of the acting faculty in 2012-13, and served on the College’s Program Advisory Committee since its inception in December 2011 until this fall.
Not only was Darcy’s inspiration and commitment to our institution and the programs we offer remarkable, but he had profound impact for our students. We are grateful for the time and talents he passionately shared with us. He will be deeply missed.
