Georgia Wins at 2025 Smart Cities Awards: Georgia continues to lead in smart city innovation, with three standout projects earning national recognition at the 2025 Smart 20 Awards. Representing 15% of this year’s honorees, projects led by Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners and the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation (PIN) showcase how technology can improve lives across Georgia communities. Health in Focus: This month learn what PIN is doing to support Kids-Doc-on-Wheels (KDOW) in the delivery of healthcare to some of the most vulnerable Georgians. “Rockdale County Public Schools has worked diligently to make available student supports, which are often coordinated with community partners such as KDOW,” said Zelphine Smith-Dixon, Chief Student Support Officer for RCPS. Read More



We strengthen our communities by investing in public service talent: In a recent Atlanta Journal Constitution op-ed, Larry Hanson, CEO of the Georgia Municipal Association, and Debra Lam, PIN’s Founding Executive Director, emphasized the urgent need to address local government workforce shortages. With nearly 10,000 municipal employees retiring by 2029, they called for investment in the next generation of public servants to sustain Georgia’s cities—key drivers of the state’s economy and growth. Tech AI Fest 2025 Recap: Held March 26–28, Tech AI Fest brought together leading voices from academia, industry, and government. Highlights included a panel on AI in Georgia with our board members Sen. John Albers and Rep. Brad Thomas, plus insights from experts at JPMorgan, NVIDIA, Georgia Tech, and Carnegie Mellon. The event underscored the power of cross-sector collaboration in advancing AI innovation. Read More

2025 Community Research Grant: The Partnership for Inclusive Innovation’s Community Research Grant Program is now accepting proposals for projects that harness AI to address real-world community challenges. Researchers and local governments are encouraged to team up and apply for funding to support innovative, impact-driven pilot projects. The application window is open until May 15, 2025.
