THIS WEEK'S NEWS

Save the Date! November 1 is Coming!

November 1 is All Saints’ Day, Pledge Sunday, and Communion Sunday. Remembering 70 years of faithful members with special music from choir and musicians. …and daylight savings time ends so your clock “falls back” to give you an extra hour of sleep!

Pledge cards have been mailed and should be in your mailbox. You may return them in the enclosed envelope by mail, in the offering plate on Sunday, or bring them to the church office. A prompt response is appreciated so that we can set our budget for next year! Our official pledge dedication date is Sunday, November 1. We hope you will join us for a very special worship service!

Many have requested a link to submit their pledge, rather than a good old-fashioned envelope. We get it! Please use this link to submit your pledge: bit.ly/HPPC2027Pledge Thank you!

Last Chance to Submit: Formed in Faith Survey

As we’re closing out our two-year cohort exploring more intentional family and intergenerational ministry, we need your voice! Within the bulletin on Sunday, there will be a short survey. Please fill out the survey and return in the collection plate or the church office. Or follow this REVISED link to complete the survey online: https://bit.ly/formedinfaith2026r

You can also scan the QR code to complete the survey. Thanks!

Trunk or Treat is THIS SUNDAY at 1 PM

Let’s celebrate the kiddos this Sunday from 1-3 PM with candy, games and fall beverages for all! Rain or shine the spooky fun is happening at Hamblen! There is still time to sign up for a trunk and/or donate candy. Sign up by clicking here: https://bit.ly/HPPCTrunkorTreat2026

Tai Chi Starts TODAY, October 22

These gentle, energizing classes focus on improving strength, balance, and overall well-being. New and returning students are always welcome! Meet Thursdays, through November 19, from 1–2 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Never tried Tai Chi? This is a great time to start—come give it a try! Bring your own water bottle and dress comfortably.

It's Raffle Time!

Help support Deb's Circle, by purchasing tickets for their quilt raffle! The quilt is shown in the pictures above, and features attractive, neutral, calming colors perfect for cuddling on a cold day. Quilt showcases incredible workmanship and has been made with love and teamwork. Tickets are $2 each and will be sold before and after worship in the narthex.

In Case You Missed the Congregational Meeting...

At the congregational meeting on September 6, we elected our Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) who will be responsible for the next steps in our pastor search. Committee members are Curt Craig, Ione Felgenhauer, Kyle Ham, Kay Steinhilber, and Amber Wagenblast. Please hold this group in your prayers as they work to discern who God is calling to lead HPPC into the future! For more information about the search process and the PNC's responsibilities, see the handout at the information center.

Earth Care Tip of the Week

The gifts of God - sun and wind - are free and renewable. Using them rather than continuing with fossil fuels will save our planet. A crucial benefit from the switch is less incentive to go to war over limited fossil resources. Join with others and use your power - your voice, your actions, your advocacy - to love Earth.

Come Sing with the Choir!

Do you love to sing? Then we have a place for you! The Chancel Choir starts again this September and sings through mid-June. Even if you can’t commit to the entire program year, come sing with us on weeks that you are able. Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 6:30-8 PM in the sanctuary, and we gather at 9 AM on Sunday mornings (half hour prior to worship). Childcare is provided. Contact Kyla Fague at 509-270-6848 or kylaf@hamblenpres.org for more information or if you are interested in joining this great community. We hope to see you in the choir loft!

Handbell Ringers Wanted

Looking to add a new element of joy to your life? Consider playing handbells. We would like to add a few new members to the handbell choir this fall, so this is your opportunity. If you’re curious, call Katie Haney at 509 840-3456 and she can explain what’s involved. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 4:30-5:30 PM. Ages 4th grade to adult are welcome.
