Thanks to a grant from the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE), this spring, something important begins at Camp Kawartha, and we’re inviting our community to help bring it to life.

Starting March 15, we will begin transforming the washrooms in our Dining Hall, the heart of our Clear Lake site, into a space that goes far beyond accessibility standards. This renovation is about dignity, independence, and ensuring that every person, children, youth, Elders, families, and visitors of all abilities, can fully participate in the joy and connection that nature offers.
The new design will include features such as adaptive supports, touchless fixtures, multisensory signage, and barrier-free layouts that reflect the inclusive values already woven throughout Camp Kawartha. More than a renovation, this project will become a living teaching space, helping all of us better understand how people experience and navigate the world differently.
While the EASE grant helps to cover some of the cost, we still need your help. If Camp Kawartha has ever made a difference in your life or in the life of someone you love, we invite you to join us in building a space where everyone belongs.
Together, we can create a more inclusive, compassionate, and connected future.
