Hello Oak Hill Families,

It is hard to believe we are approaching the end of October! At the risk of “jinxing” things, we made it through the first grading period with no COVID cases. I would like to congratulate our wonderful staff, our amazing students, and each of you.

I have been in education for quite some time and I cannot think of a more difficult period in this profession. I remain in awe of the hard work and dedication of our outstanding teachers. Additionally, I am amazed by the flexibility and cooperation of our students. The adjustment to wearing masks, remaining socially distanced, and focusing on healthy hygiene has been nothing short of remarkable. Lastly, each of you, the families. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this period.
With all of this stated, as we now enter cold and flu season and Dallas County returning to a COVID risk level of red, I implore each of you to remain focused on our goal of keeping everyone healthy and safe. Now is not the time to ease off of our policies and procedures. Please remind your student to wear a CLEAN mask EACH DAY, wash their hands regularly, keep their hands away from their face, and maintain the distancing guidelines we have put in place. At this time, we will continue with the Re-Entry Plan the Health and Safety Task Force has approved and we will inform parents if any policies must change in correspondence with the COVID risk level in Dallas.

I also want to remind you all that this process works off of the honesty of each individual. Please take our COVID screener seriously. If your student experiences any symptoms, please consider their health and the safety of others around them before sending your child to school each day. We will get through this period together and come out stronger in the end!

Thank you again,

Brit
