The Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center is excited to share the 2024 Annual Report!

This month, the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center (CRC) would like to share the 2023/2024 Academic Year Annual Report from the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center. Some highlights from the report include:

• Three new full-time staff at the CRC - Participant Coordinator, Program Data Manager, and Research Associate
• Dr. Kameel Karkar joined the CRC team as Medical Director
• Currently 727 people are enrolled in research study
• 4 scientific articles and 12 newsletters published in 2024
• Thanks to the generosity of the Valero Energy Foundation and St. Luke's Lutheran Healthcare Ministries, the CRC purchased a new -80-degree freezer and a new centrifuge
• The CRC contributed a rare dataset to the Kids First Pediatric Initiative program with extensive phenotypic and genetic information about approximately 150 study participants
• Answered over 1000+ questions from chromosome 18 families.
• Conducted 6 Tours of C18 CRC - both in person and virtual
• Dr. Cody was the recipient of the San Antonio Business Journal's 2024 Impact Awards
