Enjoy the Northeast's largest night-time holiday parade and usher in the season with this beloved tradition. Experience the magic of the holidays with sparkling floats, glittering firetrucks, marching bands, dance troupes, and Santa Claus - fun for the whole family! This year the City Mission's Downtown Ambassadors are the 2024 Holiday Parade Grand Marshal! There will also be a second grandstand on Lower State St. announcing the floats as they pass, as well as a free, sensory-friendly space for families to view the parade on screen at GE Theatre inside Proctors. 

MVP Health Care - Stockade-athon

Nov. 10, 8:30 a.m.

The Stockade-athon, one of the oldest races around, starts at 8:30 a.m. in front of MVP on State St, runs through the historic Stockade, up Nott St., through the GE Plot towards Schenectady High School, through the Upper Union St. neighborhood into Central Park and finishing down the hill in Vale Park and onto Franklin St. There will be road closures from 8:15 a.m. to about 10 a.m. along the route. 

• ICFS Presents: Dark City Director’s Cut (1998/2008) | Nov. 7, 7 p.m. | "Dark City” takes us inside the nightmarish world of John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) who wakes up one day believing he may have committed a murder. Details about the murder, his beloved wife and much of his entire life are maddeningly out of grasp.
• Story Circle: Tellabration! 2024 – Lost and Found | Nov. 10, 4 p.m. | Come and listen to our captivating storytellers share stories about the lost and the found.
• Exhibition on Screen presents “Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers” | Nov. 12, 2 & 7 p.m. | The National Gallery is hosting the UK’s biggest ever Van Gogh exhibition. This film is a chance to reexamine and better understand this iconic artist, focusing on his unique creative process.
• Theresa Caputo Live! the Experience | Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m. | Recognized as one of the most renowned mediums for over 30 years, Theresa Caputo Live: The Experience is the awe-inspiring event you won’t want to miss.
