Enjoy the Northeast's largest night-time holiday parade and usher in the season with this beloved tradition. Experience the magic of the holidays with sparkling floats, glittering firetrucks, marching bands, dance troupes, and Santa Claus - fun for the whole family! This year the City Mission's Downtown Ambassadors are the 2024 Holiday Parade Grand Marshal! There will also be a second grandstand on Lower State St. announcing the floats as they pass, as well as a free, sensory-friendly space for families to view the parade on screen at GE Theatre inside Proctors. | | |

MVP Health Care - Stockade-athon
Nov. 10, 8:30 a.m.
The Stockade-athon, one of the oldest races around, starts at 8:30 a.m. in front of MVP on State St, runs through the historic Stockade, up Nott St., through the GE Plot towards Schenectady High School, through the Upper Union St. neighborhood into Central Park and finishing down the hill in Vale Park and onto Franklin St. There will be road closures from 8:15 a.m. to about 10 a.m. along the route.
