Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Friday, June 12

On the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we celebrate the boundless love and mercy of Christ revealed through His Sacred Heart. In the Gospel, Jesus extends a comforting invitation: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” The Sacred Heart reminds us that no burden is too great for the Lord to carry with us. May we draw closer to Jesus, find rest in His love, and learn from His gentle and humble heart.

Follow this link to pray the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, beginning today.

Gospel in Focus

June 7, 2026 Jesus tells His disciples that His body and blood are true food and drink, and that we need to

partake in His body and blood to have eternal life... “Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man  and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.’” —John 6:53

Discussion Questions

How do you think the disciples felt when Jesus told them to eat His flesh and drink His blood? How would you have felt if you were there?

Why do you think Jesus wanted to give us the Eucharist?

What can you do during Mass to help get in the right mindset during the Transubstantiation?
