by Penny S, Marketing Chair
The Hands4Hope Warm and Fuzzy Drive is now well underway, continuing through November 13. The Warm and Fuzzy drive is the main source of new clothing for our 17th annual Winter Boutique. Hands4Hope is partnering with local businesses, schools, and other organizations to gather clothes that will be given out to people in need through Winter Boutique in early December. We are collecting long sleeved tops, pants/leggings, sweaters, gloves, warm socks, warm pajamas, underwear, base layers, and blankets. We are particularly in need of men's clothing items this year.
If you don't have time to shop and drop off, you can shop our Amazon Wish List, or make a direct donation to have the committee shop for you for what is needed most.
| | The 2026 Hands4Hope Winter Boutique will have a "winter wonderland" theme and will be held at Faith Episcopal Church from December 4 through 12. Winter Boutique will be staffed by youth volunteers, along with Adult Lead volunteers. Winter Boutique shift sign-ups are coming soon, and you can sign up now to help count and sort clothing. Multiple dates and times are available. | | We are all looking forward to serving our community and helping everyone to have a “warm and fuzzy” winter this year! | | Empty Bowls Committee Update | | |
The Empty Bowls Committee is formed and ready to plan the 27th annual Empty Bowls Dinner in Placerville! Save the date for Saturday, February 20, 2027 from 3 to 6 pm. We'll have music, vendors, our signature soups, and of course, a handmade bowl.
This fundraiser supports projects that address food insecurity, and promote nutrition, healthy eating, agriculture, and increased education and awareness around these topics. If your organization serves El Dorado County and would like to apply for a portion of the funds raised by this event, you are invited to fill out our Beneficiary Application, which is due Friday, November 13. Feel free to share with others!
| | Check out the new Hands4HopeYouth.org! | | We’ve been busy behind the scenes! For the first time since 2018, Hands4HopeYouth.org has a fresh new look, easier navigation, and all our programs, events, and opportunities in one place. Made possible by a generous grant from The Latrobe Fund and shaped with input from our youth participants, the new site makes it easier than ever to discover what we do and find ways to get involved. Take a look around and see what’s new! | | |
Save the date for the 4th annual Nashville Songwriters Live benefit for Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference at the Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake College! Enjoy an evening on March 12, 2027, facilitated by the incredible Mark McKay, with Greg Barnhill, Morgan Myles, and Cynthia Renee.
