The ability to witness someone else’s truth is a core skill for mediators and also a 21st century competency for managing conflict and fostering belonging, equity, and community. This is a very valuable workshop and we encourage you to attend.
Come join Dr. Frederick Moore as he provides tools to increase your ability to witness someone’s life experiences perspectives from a nonjudgmental space with compassion. Dr. Moore will challenge you to listen from your heart space with the awareness to regulate difficult emotions and manage your reactions to challenging situations.
Dr. Moore will also challenge you to release your ego and any personal defense barriers so you can be open to a life perspective that you may not understand logically or emotionally. You’ll also learn how to create safe spaces, where a person can honestly share their perspectives.
By the end of his workshop, all participants will:
- Develop an inner-awareness to respond to challenging conversations with individuals they do not readily relate to.
- Cultivate practices that increase their ability to compassionately listen and create a safe space for individuals to feel heard and not judged.
- Expand their outer-awareness of how their life perspective may assist or hinder their ability to connect with others in ways that facilitates understanding of their perspective.
- Deepen their understanding of diversity that leads to equity.
