McHORN and JEROME are stories starring young or new characters in the world. Their issues might feel familiar to young readers as they embark on their own life journeys. While reading McHORN, you may occasionally notice a mama bird and wonder, "Hmm, what does she have to do with McHorn?" Each time you see her she's carrying something different in her beak. It's not until the end of McHorn's story that you discover where, when and what she's been doing.
The box scenes in JEROME show all 14 animal plushies as they bounce around in the back of the moving truck. One of them, Pierre the bear, is barely noticeable. In each box scene you can search for him peeking from shifting locations in the box. Unless you're looking for him, you may not even notice Pierre until Jerome finally meets him face-to-face later in the story.
THE MAGICAL MOONBALLS is about the gift of a smile and how contagious it is. This story also has an added element...
The little mouse on the cover appears somewhere in each scene for curious readers to find. It also plays a big part in how the story ends. And hopefully you'll be smiling!
