Title Insurance & National Affairs Section Webinar at 11 am on November 9th

Buyer’s Withholding Obligation and

Reporting Under FIRPTA

Please join REBA’s Title Insurance & National Affairs Section for a webinar at 11 am on Thursday, November 9th. Alexandra L. Wannop and Sarah D. Wellings, both Counsel at Sullivan & Worcester LLP, will present.

This program will focus on how to navigate FIRPTA, the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act. It will cover when and how much to withhold, who is responsible for withholding, as well as the various exceptions to the general rule. In addition to discussing procedures for paying and reporting, our presenters will also examine circumstances appropriate for delayed reporting and payment. They will cover the applicability of FIRPTA in the context of special circumstances, including foreclosures, short sales, 1031 exchanges, assignments of rights to purchase, government purchasers, grantor trusts, and situations in which joint owners consist of both a U.S. person and a foreign person.

This webcast program, open to all REBA members, is from 11 am to 12 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

To register, RSVP to Matt Zarrella at zarrella@reba.net.
