Dear Families,
Given the impending blizzard forecast, there will be a schoolwide closure of St Peter Academy tomorrow, Thursday, December 17, 2020. The schoolwide closure is inclusive of the administration offices, early education division toddler through pre kindergarten and elementary division kindergarten and upper grades.
My admin team and I will check for and respond to school voicemails and emails. Additionally, you will be notified of any closure/opening updates through the remind text app and school email platforms. We also report closure announcements to all major television news outlets.
Historically, the school year snow day policy called for make up days in June commencing after the second snow day. This policy takes into consideration our 182 day school year calendar which is 2 more days than required by the state of Massachusetts, and St Peter Academy's longer school day which provides for 1,183 hours of structured learning time, exceeding the State's 900 hour requirement by 283 hours.
We have updated the 2020 school year policy by removing the requirement of June make up days after the second snow day. Instead, school day snow cancellations will be replaced with our virtual learning model after the second snow day.
Please stay safe and enjoy the season's first snowstorm!
Andrius Dilba
