The resources available to research natural resources, energy, and environmental law seem endless (and sometimes endlessly expensive). This webinar will begin with a short overview of some legal research basics and will be followed by an informative discussion of available research tools and strategies specific to natural resources, energy, and environmental law, with a focus on free resources. Although the session will focus more on federal law, Professor Laws will briefly discuss strategies for state law research as well.

JENNIFER LAWS is a Senior Lecturer and Law Librarian at the University of New Mexico School of Law. She teaches in the legal research instruction program at UNM Law and serves as the Law Library’s coordinator of electronic resources and scholarly communication. Her Applied Legal Research course examines a full range of advanced legal research topics with a focus on natural resources, energy, and environmental laws and is among those that support the UNM Law Natural Resources and Energy Law Certificate program.
